VMA Listening Session for the 2026 Virginia Energy Plan

Description

The Virginia Manufacturers Association has been invited to participate in a stakeholder listening session with the Virginia Department of Energy to help inform the 2026 Virginia Energy Plan. This session is an opportunity for manufacturers to provide direct input on the challenges and opportunities facing Virginia's energy future. The discussion will focus on four questions: 1) What does your industry group see as the primary challenges and opportunities for expanding energy resources within Virginia? 2) What are the most important challenges and solutions to energy reliability and resilience? How does your industry think about/contribute to enhanced reliability and resilience? 3) What energy affordability challenges are most significant, and what strategies can help manage or reduce consumers’ energy costs? How does your industry think about/contribute to promoting energy affordability? 4) What regulatory or policy tools in Virginia would most help you keep bills affordable while investing to meet emerging reliability and large load growth needs and why?
